Water Temperature: 69-72 degrees anticipated. While this is an average temperature range for open-water swimming (and within a good temperature range for an open water race), if you are not used to water this cold, it is highly recommended that you prepare for the water conditions with regular swims in similar or colder water. (Barton Springs is usually approximately 68-70 degrees. Deep Eddy is usually 68-72 degrees.)
